Three Spanish cities are in the top 10 of the best destinations

The quality of life, the climate, good communications and affordable real estate prices compared to other countries are the main assets that have propelled these capitals of Spain among the preferred places for this professional profile. Managers choose Málaga,Barcelona and Palma among the best destinations to live and work.
This is clear from the latest edition of the Executive Nomad Index, prepared by the international consulting firm Savills, which analyzes how social, demographic, environmental and technological changes affect the real estate sector in the world. The Andalusian city occupies the first position in Europe and is only surpassed worldwide by Dubai and Abu Dhabi. As for Barcelona and Palma, they climb positions in the ranking, occupying sixth and seventh position, respectively, behind Miami and Lisbon and ahead of destinations such as the Côte d'Azur, the Caribbean or Bali.In the global comparison, Spanish cities stand out for their combination of quality of life, Internet speed, air connectivity, climate and price of the type of housing sought by nomadic executives, generally for prime rentals. The culture, gastronomy and the fact of being cities with beaches, together with rents in the prime segment that are comparatively more affordable compared to other international destinations and the launch of the Spanish digital nomad visa, have attracted executives of different nationalities who have the option to work remotely for long periods.

The common digital nomad is symbolized by the young backpacker; However, executive nomads tend to be older and are more likely to move with their family, the consultancy explains. The Savills Nomadic Executives Index classifies the 25 most attractive destinations for these profiles based on variables such as Internet speed, air connectivity, prime rental price and climate. The two cities at the top of the world ranking, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, stand out in several categories and offer everything you need to thrive personally and professionally, from modern infrastructure to a high quality of life. Both achieve top scores in Internet speed and air connectivity, however, Dubai has a big advantage in the latter aspect. Its main airport is the busiest in the world for international passenger traffic and the recently announced expansion will make it the largest airport in the world.
In addition, this edition includes for the first time four new destinations that are developing their attractiveness for executive nomads: Grenada, Bali, Cape Town and Palermo, expanding the diversity of attractive areas in the world for this new profile of nomadic worker, placing in positions 11, 12, 17 and 22 respectively. What do nomadic executives value? This professional profile places greater emphasis on aspects related to the day-to-day lifestyle when choosing the destination, such as security and access to health or education.
As for homes, extra space and proximity to services usually prevail. For these individuals, both physical networking and digital connectivity are important. It is a worker profile that normally has a digital nomad visa program or equivalent, or in the case of European countries, is already part of an economic bloc that allows the free movement of people to live or work.
